unknown old Moto chip GSCR38102PG05
« on: December 18, 2015, 11:13:15 pm »
Just out of curiosity...

I got a small bag of PLCC-68 chips from a colleague who is cleaning out his office. He did not remember what these were planned for, the chips are obviously unused.

Manufacturer: Motorola
Date code: 1987 week 01

RYT3050012
GSCR38102PG05

Google gave me the usual suppliers with old stock and one link claiming it to be an 8Mbit SRAM, which seems unlikely, since we just barely had 1 Mbit DRAM chips on the market back in 1987...

Does anyone have a clue to what these chips might have been used for?
