Frequency measurement

Hi ,
what are the techniques for a precision frequency measurement ? , the DATA can be used but i don't think that give a good precision !

Precision measurement can be performed using a frequency counter with an accurate time base. There are frequency counters out there which could do the job. Basically you set the counter start and stop using the 1 sec precision pulse and clock it with the input signal.
for low frequencies, use a PLL to scale up the frequency before measurement. This gives better precision.
