What is this adaptor Dave J. is using here?
« on: September 13, 2024, 09:27:44 am »
Hi

I would love to have such an Scope probe adaptor to BNC as shown in this video at time 14:38
I use tektronics probes.
Please not I am referring to the adaptor into which the scope probe, without it's cap, plugs into.

Perhaps there is an adaptor like this that plugs into male BNC plug.

Regards,
Cicada.

I just know the SMA-counterpart:

Unfortunately Farnell wants a quite professional amount of money for it. Does anyone know this for a more reasonable price?

I have it. it is an accessory for a Tek THS3000.
I think it is expensive.

Probe to BNC adapter CT2708 (Cal Test)  Cal Test is a reasonably priced brand.

BNC ADAPTER 5MM NONTERMINATED

(5mm seems most common)

I saw this on Probe Master site. see 4987BA, 4952BA.
https://probemaster.com/oscilloscope-probes/4900-series/accessories/

But I think it's made for specific probes. Not universal.

Yeah, there is some variety in the diameter of both the probe tip and the grounding sleeve, so the adapters are somewhat specific.  I have a set of the Cal Test CT2708, and they just barely work with some Rigol probes with a 4.7mm sleeve diameter if you squish the contact leaves a bit.  I don't know how consistent the dimensions of Tek probes are, so the OP may need to take some measurements first.  Whatever adapters Tek sells, there's a good chance they're available directly from whoever makes them, or under a different brand, at a better price.
