Rectifier - Regulator integration
« on: June 24, 2013, 11:38:16 am »
Hi Folks,

I have designed a rectifier and a regulator as independent entities. Both of these blocks are working fine when simulated in virtuoso independently. But when I integrate them, i.e when I connect regulator to rectifier, I am unable to see regulated output. I have attached the snapshot of rectifier and regulator blocks. For regulator, I have used another circuit to derive reference voltage Vref. Note: I have used 4-stage rectifier for which the current at the output of the rectifier is 2uA. Pls let me know why it is happening so. The first snapshot is the regulator ckt and the second one is reference voltage generator for regulator and the third is single stage rectifier block. I have used 4-stages for the rectifier. I see regulated output of -0.5V when the rectified dc voltage is saturated to 1V.

imho, it might be that your circuits are very innovative and quite a unique design., but I think you should google rectifier, power supply and regulator before drawing any more schematic drawings and then hope your creative ideas will achieve any practical electronic goal.

It would also help to use a schematic editor to present your idea that does not punish a printer so much with so much black.

from my experience the black background in schematic and pcb software is only there to reduce glare.  Most will print a white background where a black one is displayed.

Inks spills like blood at a guillotine convention if you just try to print the picture posted, and sometime you need to print the .png file displayed as a posted image to try to get some idea on what is going on to help the OP.
