Mounting modules on pcb

Hi,

for a product prototype, I need to mount a few modules with castellated hole contacts onto one main pcb. Since the modules are quite expensive, I don't want to solder them onto the prototype pcbs. And as they're relatively large and don't have continuous contact rows on each side, they won't fit into any standard LCC socket. Are there any surface mount spring contacts that would provide a snug fit?

I would solder them using low-temperature tin-bismuth solder. Then you can easily desolder them for later reuse, without risking desoldering any other components. Use a cheap hot air rework tool.

Beyond that, I’d peruse the Mill-Max and Harwin catalogs to see if there are any spring loaded pins that would work.

As stated in the answer, you might be able to make your own with right angle pin headers.
