Favorite Toggle DPDT switch?
« on: January 19, 2014, 06:05:06 am »
Hi

I have quite a few DPDT switches to replace in some high end audio gear. There are so many options, but Im not really sure which switches are "great" and which are "good".

Here are my requirements

Must have On/On and On/Off versions.
Must be avaliable in the USA (I need them by Thursday this week)
Must have solder lugs or long enough pins for P2P soldering.

ANy ideas? Im only used to buying "budget" switches! haha

Thanks!

C&K are good. Also Cherry is good. Do you want toggle or slide? We have been using Switchcraft full size slide switches for a number of years now and have had good luck. We use a DPDT one and they are good. E-Switch is ok in my experience. Actual Electroswitch is better, and arkless for that matter, but both are high in price though. Carling is another option.

SInce we are retrofitting gear, they need to be toggle. Yeah, I looked those up, dang they get expensive!!!!

I really like the switchcraft slide switches, might use those in some of my own designs.  ;D

Its cause those old Soviets could use the real good chemicals and materials. Don't ask what those contacts are plated with. Just rest assured is that ICBM failed, it was not due to that switch! Hahahahaha

Hmmm.... Blood of our enemies is not quite Soviet enough.... Filthy greedy capitalist Americans is more of the era... Hahahaha... I can laugh now, but once upon a time, serious business.... I feel that if both sides citizens actually knew what the other sides citizens were really like, the whole thing would have been a non issue. Both societies people were really just more concerned with getting on with business and had no real interest in fighting.
