Ultra-stable 3.3 V power supply using LT3045 and LTC6655
« on: May 31, 2021, 01:16:32 am »
The data sheets for these chips suggest a circuit for building an ultra-stable power supply that combines the wide bandwidth low noise of LT3045 with lower 1/f noise and better temperature stability of LTC6655. But I haven't seen any documentation of their combined performance. Here are the results that more or less match the datasheets (the lowest noise level is limited by the LNA10 amplifier). For comparison, I also included the spectrum of LTZ1000 reference circuit. One can get another factor of 2 improvement at lower frequencies relative to LTC6655 by dividing LTZ1000 output by a factor of about 2 and using it as the low-frequency reference. The circuit is build by hand on an SSOP adapter. I also used ceramic capacitors to keep it small.
