I did a quick search to find out what captive-bolt guns (for humanely killing cattle and small animals) use for a power source: they all seem to use either a mechanical spring, pneumatic pressure, or butane gas cartridge, ignited via battery powered spark.
I couldn’t find any that used just a standard tool battery pack.
Thus, I speculate that those designers probably considered the battery-as-driving force design as infeasible for reliable and cost effective industrial use. I further speculate that nail guns can do the trick due to the relatively short throw of a much smaller hammer mass. Fwiw.
