I am working on the input for a dual channel power supply using a 300VA Toroidal Transformer with 2 x 25V secondary windings rated at 6A each
https://docs.rs-online.com/cbfc/A700000006791802.pdfI have two seperate channel modules to control current and voltage and will likely use ADCs and DACs with a microcontroller to link both in UI.
I will need both up to 50V and 12A for testing (but not at the same time!) I am therefore thinking of utilising the following circuit with a physical switch to change between series and parallel inputs (50v @ 6A and 25V @ 12A) which will be shared between the two modules in parallel. I will of course need to ensure (probably through software control?) that both outputs never exceed 300VA in whatever configuration.
Does this seem like a reasonable solution or is there a better way to achieve this?
