There's no point in bumping a thread after less than six hours. You need to be more patient.

Are you talking about making a PGA, or buying a pre-made IC?

No, I haven't used a PGA before, but I did investigate using the PGA280, as part of a datalogger project, which didn't happen. The reason was because it works over a wide supply voltage range up to ±18V and the gain can be varied from ¹⁄₈ to 128, allowing the voltage to scaled both up and down, to suit an ADC.

There are resistor programmable difference amplifiers that you could get from the usual suspects...
Another category is called programmable instrumentation amplifiers or PGIAs from the same sources. They come with different digital interfaces.

If you don't get any replies, then perhaps it's because you haven't provided enough information. I'm still not sure of what you're asking and you haven't responded to the other points I made.

If so it's just a differential / instrumentation amplifier with gain you "program" via two resistors. Some have just one you use.

But, again, not sure what sort of question you're trying to pose "has anyone used them before". Yeah, definitely people have. But what are you trying to find out?
