RS485 Modbus - LG Heat Pump
« on: December 11, 2022, 12:05:23 pm »
Hello everyone,

I am building a project to read some values through modbus from my LG HM161M U33 heat pump.

The pump is by default master so I just enabled thought the thermostat the meter function (tries to communicate with an external slave device with 0xB1 address) in order to see the packets on the modbus and check the bus settings.

So I just used an USB-RS485 converter to capture the packets. So I verified that the settings was:
9600-8N1

By these settings and by setting the pump as slave (using the SW1:1) I tried to send some commands to the pump but no answer back. The pump slave address was set to 0x01 through the thermostat. Some of the command I tried:
01 04 00 00 00 08 F1 CC
01 03 00 00 00 02 C4 0B

Is there any chance the settings for slave being different than master?
