I tried to install it on my local Apache installation in Linux Debian, but I had some problems, now it works. Details: I downloaded
https://downloads.partkeepr.org/partkeepr-1.2.0.zip and followed the instructions how to configure Apache (e.g. AcceptPathInfo works etc.). Then I unpacked the zip file to /var/www/html/partkeepr-1.2.0. I opened
http://localhost/partkeepr-1.2.0/web/setup/index.html and clicked next and got the error as described here:
https://github.com/partkeepr/PartKeepr/issues/570 As suggested by one comment, I removed the WebserverRewriteTest test from web/setup/js/Cards/PrerequisitesTestCard.js, looks like it is not needed and I don't want to install it on the root directory for my local installation. There where lots of other errors because of missing packages, e.g. "LDAP extension not loaded", which I could solve by "apt-get install php5-ldap". I didn't like to create the database manually, PHP could have done this, too for me, with useful defaults for all the fields, like "localhost" for the hostname. Another thing I didn't like is that I can't select and copy text from the error message box when installing.
After installing, looks good, I'm entering now all my parts with it. Some problems I encountered so far:
- when I add a distributor for a part, I can't set the currency field, it is always empty. But the "price per item" shows the Euro symbol. Looks like in the demo installation the currency field is sometimes USD, sometimes EUR, but even if it is USD, the "price per item" shows EUR, for example for the part TSM2311CX (and would be nice to have a space between the number and the currency in the "price per item" field)
- "Avg. price" in the overview is 0.00 € (again, a space betweeen the number and the currency symbol would be nice). Where can I change this?
- when I add a new footprint, then add a new part, the new footprint is not available. Looks like I have to reload the webpage, then I can choose the new footprint
