Hello,
A few years ago I bought a Sony DPT-RP1. I loved it. I used it almost every day for reading and note-taking. Now, Sony has discontinued support for the $#$& product line. My tablet won't charge, even though the light comes on. When I plug in the tablet, the charging light stays on for a minute, then flashes intermittently. I took it apart (see photo below), and measured 3.3 volts DC over the battery. There are four leads; I assume the two white ones are for a sensor?
Here's what I'm thinking:
- Disconnect the battery and hook up a lab power supply with the proper voltage and current settings to make sure the rest of the tablet is OK
- Trickle-charge the battery using a lab power supply
- Replace the battery with a two-lead one, and short the two white wires to trick the tablet into thinking the battery is OK.
- Try my luck on an Aliexpress supplier that claims to have replacement batteries
Is there anything I'm missing, or that you recommend I try first?
