PCM9211 - How to configure pinmux?
« on: December 07, 2020, 12:08:56 am »
Hi, I would like to start working on a new project.

Unfortunatly I cannot understand a Datasheet.
In those cases I would contact TI via its forum but they decided to disable "personal" emails and my university email is not a valid one.

I would like to implement the typical application of a PCM9211 (Datasheet).
RXIN4 to RXIN7 are muxed with another function (i2s input). But I cannot find a way on how this MUX is set.
On chapter 9.2.2.1S/PDIF Ports is talking about the typical application and it states:

Quote
In this applicationthereare 8 total S/PDIF inputs available (2 with integrated COAX amplifiers) due to RXIN4-RXIN7 being used for a PCM input on AUXIN0.

I've also looked for a Application Notes and EVB Notes but found nothing about.

What am I missing?
Did someone alrady tried to use this chip?
The important thing is to get involved, and don't give up.

From the block diagram on page 17, you just select the mux for auxin0. Most likely you'll want to use the one for the DIT since the other two are basically passthroughs.

Ok so you think that when auxin0 is enabled, the RXIN4 to RXIN7 are automatically pinmuxed to i2s instead of SPDIF?
