Inexpensive FM blocking high-pass filter?
« on: February 26, 2015, 02:07:16 am »
I'm looking for a high-pass filter in a small SMD package that blocks FM radio stations and very low insertion loss at 162 MHz. The only readily available product I found so far is HFCV-145+ from Mini-Circuits. Seems to fit my specs close enough but $3.99 per tiny SMD passive bugs my inner cheapskate.

Are there any other vendors to check? The usual suspects (Murata, Johanson, ..) seem to have abandoned anything below 900 MHz.

If you found something at Mini Circuits, go for it! They make quality products, and for 3.99$ you can't spend your time designing something yourself.

But to answer your question, Coilcraft also makes filters, e.g.: http://www.coilcraft.com/smlc.cfm

Thank you for your input. I ordered a few samples from Mini-Circuits.
