Anyone knows this header/connector?
« on: March 20, 2015, 09:06:21 pm »

This is the header on the PCB:

...and the header's footprint:

I'm planning to make battery pack and GPIB module for my Fluke 45. Unfortunately, the main PCB has this funny looking header to connect the card via ribbon cable. I can't get any information about it.

Yes, the fastest way would be soldering wire directly to the main PCB, but I'll keep that as the last option if possible.

Molex PicoFlex.

The L stamped on them tells me that those are actually Lumberg Micromodul. PicoFlex might be compatible, though.

They look expensive, but also look reliable!
Don't ask a question if you aren't willing to listen to the answer.

"Would you like a $1000 tool to crimp your $0.01 crimp connector pin"

If you crimp 100,000 pin then the tool has cost you another $0.01 on top of the connector pin price.

I had to replace a couple of those PicoFlex connectors once.  What a pain in the arse without the correct tool.  Buy a spare as you'll likely mangle the first one.
