OK, it seems at least the contrast is working then (compared to the first pictures you posted) and I assume you have tried to adjust the pot to get the best contrast setting.
If the display is not showing anything, it could be your microcontroller that is not running the code as it should.

I have to ask though to be able to guide you a little better, what is is your experience in electronics? Hobbyist? Got a multimeter around? I assume you etched the board yourself?

Can you post a couple of photos of the bottom (solder side) of the board with as little reflections from the flux as possible (different angles)? It might be something as simple as a short circuit somewhere. It looks like your transistors and everything else are soldered in correctly, although I'm not sure if I like the floating /RESET pin.

Well if it's being used as a reset pin, you'll get spurious resets. Or just end up with it being held in reset.

Also there is no external clock. I can't look into the software from here but most of these atmega component testers use an external clock.

It depends on the MCU settings. It can run with or without an external crystal. You must set the MCU's fuses correctly.

That is what I mean, you have to load the correct firmware. The design linked to earlier has 3 different designs with of course different firmware files! I just hope he picked the correct one...

MABY, I DONT KNOW. CAN U HELP GET CORECT? OR MABY FILES FOR NEW PLATE AND SOFT?
Start by doing what you should have done in your first post:

 - Post a link to the design you built

 - Post a link to the firmware you used

We can go from there.
