Identify diode part number
« on: October 06, 2019, 03:53:43 am »
I'm reverse engineering a circuit and need to know what diode they are using.

It's an SMB size.

In the top row it says R 1 7

In the bottom row it says fpA42

If you search "smd marking r17" on the web, you may find an SMD marking code book with the answer. Does a 1N4007 seem about right for the circuit?

Just looked it up on Mouser.  I think you've got it.

I used 800v S2K/KA from Diodes Inc thinking they would be better.  Now I have to figure out why they didn't work.

Welp, wasn't the diodes.  I think I know what's going on...
