It's never too late to go back to your first post and edit the thread title from 'Trans-impedance' to 'Impedance matching'. It might actually generate more / fresh interest.

I think a variable TIA with 1:20000 range of gain could be interesting too.

I came here wondering what application somebody might have for such a thing in "general instrumentation use" :-DD

Some specialized oscilloscope probe amplifiers use a transimpedance configuration.  The Tektronix type 134 current probe amplifier is an example which can also be used with low impedance probes.

Achieving a wide gain range with constant bandwidth would be a challenge.
