Hi -
I am having a devil of a time finding a vendor that sells the small pointing device that is used on some laptop keyboards that function much like a mouse.  They (or so I understand) use the the method of resistance strain gauge to implement this function.  Many laptops still have these devices embedded into their keyboards but damn if I can find a vendor.  CTS use to sell them but have ceased production.  Supposedly ALPs also sold these but I can find no reference on their website.

If anyone could point me to where these devices can be sourced, I would certainly appreciate it.  My lack of hits while searching may be partly due to the fact I don't ever know for sure what these devices are commonly called.

Any help that you can offer would be most appreciated.
Thanks
Jim

Yes, thanks for the response.

I am trying to find a source to redesign a legacy keyboard that uses these input devices.  They supposedly still exist but are very hard to find.  Most vendors have stopped selling them it appears.

Take care -
Jim
