Motion sensing ideas for a CNC touch probe?

I could just be blowing smoke up your ass, but I think that i have an idea for how you can power the thing.  Steel is more or less permeable, so you could have a second device to wirelessly charge the device using the spindle and chuck as a core.  Worth a thought.
