I downloaded the USB 2.0 spec from here today,
https://www.usb.org/document-library/usb-20-specification, and found a "USB ENGINEERING CHANGE NOTICE, USB 2.0 VBUS Max Limit" that says VBUS may now be as high as 5.5V as part of some changes for type C.
This worries be a bit, I just did a device with a 5.5V max LDO, thinking since we protected it and slew limited the inrush it would be plenty of margin.
Is this real? Any devices in the wild with a higher VBUS than 5.25V?
