Voltage reference drift direction

I'm messing around with an LM399. I have it hooked up on a bread board as per the data sheets "Portable Calibrator" application example, except the only decent op-amp I had laying around is an LT1007

Most drift charts I've seen for various voltage refs show upward drift. I'm seeing consistent downward drift. Is this normal or is drift direction just luck of the draw?

Hmm It just struck me, I think I need to verify what's actually drifting
