Looking for stacked / dual SMA PCB connectors...
« on: March 08, 2024, 12:56:20 am »
I'm doing some initial research into a new project where I have limited space. What would help me is if I can use a stacked SMA connector like this:

This one is from CEI but I'm wondering if there are other manufacturers offering something similar. Preferably interchangeable. I'd hate to have to rely on a single source.
There are small lies, big lies and then there is what is on the screen of your oscilloscope.

Can you make a small vertical interposer board that solders into the main board? Then can put in 2 standard SMA connectors on interposer.

Or use a U.FL board-mount, and a short U.FL to SMA(f) cable, those are cheaply available. MMCX is another alternative to U.FL.

An extra board or using pigtails is an option I consider. But I'd like to avoid needing extra boards or cables if I can to make manufacturing simpler.
