Control Amperage Using Components On A BreadBoard?

I'm trying to build a basic powersupply using a breadboard, I know how to control the voltage using resistors. But i'm stumped how to control the amperes.

Basically what components do i need to control the amperage on a breadboard? Capacitors etc.,?

Depends on what exactly you're trying to do. Do you want to have a single current limit that the power supply can provide, or do you want to be able to vary current limitations? OR do you want the supply to act more as an ideal current source?
If you're just looking to power a simple circuit or two on your breadboard, then you probably only need to design for a single current limit, and that really just comes down to the ratings of the components you're using (and some protection circuitry if you want to get a little fancy)
Also, are you working with a linear power supply set-up, or switch-mode?
Sorry if this is too many questions hahah. Based on your question, I'm going to guess you're likely working with some kind of linear supply set-up; maybe even just a voltage divider...?
