i call it the ultimate power supply
« on: July 13, 2018, 10:12:53 pm »
hello guys
my name is eslam and i've done a small project i call it the ultimate power supply

my power supply has an arduino avr328 chip inside to control the whole thing
and i control the variable voltage and current through dc-dc converter

the main power source is 2 18v 3amps connected in parallel

features
max current limit cut off
min drop voltage cut off
battery charger
buzzer alarm
dot matrix 1602 screen

it's an open source project and i think some people here maybe interested to improve it  :-DMM

here is the project video including the schematic and the PCB

Since I don't have the best network connection right now I would be happy if you could share the schematic and layout in an universal form like PDF as I can't take a look at the video. Thanks!

what type of dc-dc converter you use and how you control V and I to it?

you can choose any stepdown dc-dc converter with adjustable current
don't forget to choose in range of your own power  supply and just edit the max limit in code

Yikes, that's the biggest, ugliest, messiest, most unreadable schematic I've ever seen.  I can't make heads or
tails of it.  It looks like something a genetic algorithm evolved, yet (mostly?) manages to avoid basic electrical errors?  I don't even know how this is made... I'm impressed.

What i know is the fan's transistor is running in linear mode. According to him current is controlled in dcdc module not shown hence i dont know what the opamps are doing down there sensing low side (i guess)  shunt and outputs connecting each other. And there are unknown /redundant?  Inductors everywhere which is a cryptic mystery...
