irf9110?
« on: March 01, 2013, 12:24:26 pm »
Hello Everyone. This is my very first posting on this board. I am a newbie to the electronics hobby and starting a very basic project that I have a question about. I am going to build (or at least attempt) Dave's soft latching circuit, http://www.eevblog.com/2012/03/30/eevblog-262-worlds-simplest-soft-latching-power-switch-circuit/ , and have run into a snag. I live in a very rural area and parts are hard to find, I have found everything except the IRF9110, can a IRF510 be substitued?

Hi Rickv,

The IRF9110 is a P.Channel MOSFET. The IRF510 is a N Channel MOSFET.

Pretty much any P Channel MOSFET will work in the circuit, provided that it can handle the current.
