Keyence IXH Controller Input Current
« on: August 15, 2023, 05:36:23 pm »
Hi everyone,

I need to make a simple program switch for an encloure on a Keyence IXH vision controller.  Currently it only runs one program, but I need an operator switchable program change.  Supply to the controller is 24 VDC from PLC power supply.  The user manual for the controller specifies this for PNP inputs:

"For voltage input: Maximum input rating 26.4 V, ON voltage 18 V or higher, OFF current
0.2 mA or lower, ON current 2 mA (for 24 V)"

I can specify within the controller that Input 1 ON will switch to program 2.  My question is, in order to get power to the input lead, is it acceptable to use a simple Open/close toggle switch, tapped in from the supply power to supply the input lead?  Do I need to be worried about current?

Thanks in advance.
