Hi -
It is my understanding that HP marked the proper compensation temperature directly on the oscillator's crystal package. This was done in the lab to determine what the correct 'select at test' resistor needed to be at installation time. Is this true? On two separate crystal packages that I inspected, I saw a numerical digit
written on the ceramic part of the package but no actual temperature. One showed '2' and the other '10'. Do these numbers represent a 'temperature'? If so, how does one determine this temperature? I would appreciate any advice.
Thanks
Jim
