How to use LIN bus devices
« on: July 08, 2011, 08:10:11 pm »
ok so I've stumbled on the LIN Bus as a method of transmitting data/control signals around a 12V DC system on the power lines, I deal for my scalextric project. But how do I use it ? I've looked up a chip and read the datasheet and it is not really self explanatory.

From an implementation point of view, what do i need to do to use a LIN bus transceiver to connect two micro-controllers together ? can I just connect the transceivers to either end of the power rail and assume that I can treat the i/o pins as direct connections or do i need to do anything else to get them talking properly ?

Check Microchip website, there's a lot of application notes, development board with schematics, software libraries, etc.

What you want more??
