How sense weight?
« on: May 03, 2017, 12:05:08 am »
Hey Guys

Has anyone ever had to sense weight?

I'm just wondering for a silly little quick side project I want to do, if I can throw weight sensing into the system.  I was looking if a single chip IC exists which can do this, I only need resolution between 0.1g and maybe at the absolute upper limit 1kg.  If anyone's done this, what is the best way to go about it?

Thanks
docmur

Strain gauge technology is commonly used to measure weight.
It is difficult to be any more specific in the absence any relevant details.

Fair enough, I want to put something about the size of a 125 Mason jar on top of it, then measure the contents of the jar.  Realistically the jar would never have more then at the most 14g in it.  The jar wouldn't move but the contents might change at any time, although slowly.
