All the interns at Texas Instruments were challenged to build projects based around a MSP430 microcontroller. My group made a 8x16 RGB LED Coffee Table!

There are two fundamental problems with LED coffee tables.
1) you don't want a mains lead to a table.
2) Tables are for putting stuff on, covering up whatever the table is doing.

that is waht the analogue on is much more effective, it could be run on batteries for a good bit of time and does have the "resolution" that prevents you from putting stuff on it to appreciate it in fact doing so makes it work
