Build a simple Vacuum Tube amplifier

Build a simple 12AU7 tube amp
 
I am trying to build a tube amp that's using a 12AU7 tube and an IRF610

That is the smallest voltage overhead I've ever seen a traditional triode run with. How is the distortion? You ought to try one of the special low voltage tubes that were specifically intended for 12V operation (car audio, etc.)

I don't have the other parts in my local electronics shop, but i have the tube  :palm:
