I'm looking to alarm a piece of remote equipment I'm building and I'm struggling to find a suitable sounder to serve as the alarm. Does anyone know of a relatively high output yet reasonably small for the purpose (given that I want to make a racket) sounders/drivers/whatever? Something like a waterproof smoke alarm sounder would do the job, but I can't find one. They are also a bit susceptible to being silenced by poking.
My enclosure is a die-case aluminium housing which is about 8 inches square by 4 inches deep. It's passes my IP67, standard issue UK wheely-bin full of water test as-is (it has an O-ring type gasket around the sealing face) and I'd like the sounder to be at least IP54 if possible.
I've got some old 1" compression drivers knocking about but I don't need the bandwidth and they're a bit on the large side, not to mention not being very waterproof.
I'm not really bothered as to whether I have to give it an amplified signal or just power - anything would be a start.
