Halogen Lamp conversion to LED
« on: February 18, 2019, 05:46:07 pm »
I have a lamp I love. I can't find anything that I would want to replace it with. It's a simple floor standing unit with a regular upward projecting portion (2x bulbs), and then it also has a flexible arm. I'm able to extend this over my desk and working area when doing electronics work, but then also just have it out of the way when it's just an office the other half of the time.

Each have their own control knobs, and both are dimmable.

The gooseneck one is a halogen light. The enclosure will fit a round COB LED perfectly. It's begging to be upgraded! (I purchased the equivalent LED sized bulb and it does not fit in the housing unfortunately.)

The control unit inside is a Kaoyi KHT-134H. Specs are 120VAC in, 12Vac out (for the halogen I suspect). Inside, there's a CTB08-600C triac for the upper light. For what i assume is the lower one, there's two 13005ED ( https://alltransistors.com/pdfview.php?doc=s13005ed.pdf&dire=_jdsemi ) BJT's.

The control board takes up most of the enclosure.

Any thoughts on potential avenues to ditch the halogen bulb and get the COB LED in there?
