Old Thomas and Betts IDC connector
« on: December 15, 2017, 05:31:09 pm »
Posting here as folks have been pretty good in past at ID'ing connectors.

This is from a fairly valuable piece of 1990s Fluke test equipment that I'd like to keep original.      The IDC connector is stamped "T&B/Ansley" and the handle is stamped T&B.    I reached out to Thomas and Betts and they said the design was sold to TE Connectivity and they've not made it in 15 years.    TE doesn't recognize it.

It's different from the current IDC connectors which have holes on the edges where the optional strain relief fits into.   On the T&B the handle portion looks like it snaps onto the sides and has gone missing on one.

I'm looking for the part# for this handle,  or at least if there is an standard term for it that I can use to try and find a surplus one.

I'm aware I could remove, crimp a new IDC connector onto it with a strain relief and a loop but as I said, I'd prefer to keep it original.   That said, I do need functional as right now I'm having to pull on the cables to remove/pry off with screwdriver which isn't ideal.

Thanks
