Hi guys,
I like to use a lattice FPGA in one of my projects. what I need to know is whether xilinx, atmel or any other SPI flash can be used as configuration flash for the lattice FPGA or I have to use the lattice SPI configuration flash only.

The ones they specifically designate as for FPGA configuration are ones they've tested and support, but any part with the right interface and timing requirements should work.

The Spartan6 devices from Xilinx support loading from a generic SPI flash. You can even program the flash through the FPGA using JTAG (although it is a bit slow).
