Hi
So long story short, after I ended up buying a couple of old bench multi-meters from ebay, I soon wanted to connect them with some sort of a computer to do logging and maybe some math on measurements they provide.
Being that both instruments are from about mid 80s they come with GPIB ports, and none of my PCs (not even my 486DX2 build) have a port like that. I needed some sort of an interface device that would preferably work with a modern operating system.
While I could just buy a USB adapter and be done, I instead decided to design a Raspberry Pi and linux-gpib compatible interface board with a couple of extra features such as power regulator, fan and RS232 port.
So I present to you my first open source hardware project GrasPiB
