DIY Dispenser Needle Bottle Stoppers
« on: February 06, 2014, 09:36:57 pm »
In my DIY flux bottle thread I used a piece of O-ring to cap the dispenser needle.  Turns out that does not work well for long term storage. The flux can dry out in the tip and it wont dispense. So the fix is making a music wire stopper that is one or two mills smaller than the dispenser tube ID.  The length should be long enough to go thru the entire nozzle and sanding a nice taper on the end makes it easier to get into the tube.  The loop makes it easier to grab and to see when its out of the bottle.  Works to slow evaporation of solvents like the Methanol bottle shown.  The flux needles are 24 ga which are .015" ID with a .012" music wire.  The solvent bottle is 26 ga which is .011" ID with a .010" music wire.

Great! I've also seen this done with wax on the handle part to prevent it cutting your fingers when you pull hard
