So I just fixed my HP3278A multimeter with a new hybrid module and thought I'd crack open the faulty one for a sneaky peek inside.

I thought someone else might find this passably interesting, so here are the photos, you can see on the top center-right the melted bond wires (one trace missing from when I lifted the lid) that melted, rendering the AC ranges unuseable.
