Component identification help - Thermal sensor
« on: April 30, 2019, 04:04:21 pm »
Hello and thanks for taking the time to read my little post.

I tried to post this once already but it failed somehow (i bet it was due to trying to attach/upload too big images) So here i try again using Imgur..

I am trying to identify the thermal sensor on this board so i can either extract it and re purpose it, or measure it and buy a substitute with the same values.

Long story made short: Late 2011 27" iMac. Replaced faulty HDD and aftermath is 100% fan-usage due to an "Apple moment" with proprietary sensor instead of standardized S.M.A.R.T. usage for disk thermal monitoring.

Can anyone lend their me their eyes and knowledge and identify any thermal sensor. I have tried and failed all the ways i know how so any input or sugestion is appreciated and welcome (unless you mention OWC Cable :) )

I tried to crop and flip, scale, tweak to make it as human able to read, but let me know if you want any better images of a specific chip/area.
