adjustable thermal cut-out

hi guys
im currently designing a low voltage thermostat, with a latching circuit to act as a thermal cutout. it was originally designed as an over temperature protection for my rc battery charger. i plan to suggest my design to sparkfun electronics. i thought about one with a switching regulator so you could run it from 24 volts aswell as 12 volts dc. its a comparator based one, but maybe a digital one with a micro might be better. please give me some suggestions for improvements.
