Why? - Just use virtually any Android phone/tablet with BT serial adapter and VT100 emulator application like Blueterm.

Why?

because Android is pure shit for me
because I hate tablet and smart-phones
because tables and smart-phones do not have a physical keyboard
because when tables and smart-phones have a keyboard it's usually shitty
because I want to create my own engine

LOL :) Are you purist? For you only good operation system most likely is OpenVMS, right?

Btw tablets and android phones do indeed have physical (tactile) keyboards. They are called Bluetooth mechanical keyboards.

Just one example of at least dozen:  https://www.logitechg.com/en-us/products/gaming-keyboards/g613-wireless-mechanical-gaming-keyboard.html
