« on: July 30, 2016, 08:11:16 pm »
I want to know if I can use a power bank to charge a cell phone battery directly. The output on power bank is  5v 2.1 amps... it's a nextech 8024182

That's called a battery charge circuit... the choice of which must be done accordingly to the battery type that you didn't mention.

I want to do this so that I can get a second spare s5 battery to charge on the go/fly, so thus I have to fully charged batteries...

Phone batteries aren't really meant to be swapped out regularly.  Perhaps just a portable charger?

You could buy one of those universal lithium battery chargers. Their primary target is camera batteries, but if you choose one in which a (typically flat and wide) phone battery fits, I don't see why it shouldn't work... You sure don't want to hook up the battery directly to your power bank.

Samsung sell a pack with both the battery and a table chager if it might help. Had the same kit back when I had an S4.

I wonder why the ebay charger is missing its original packaging? Is defective and was returned? Factory reject? I would never buy it and risk having my home burn down.
