Yep, that wheel has already been invented, blown a flat, seized the bearings, sheared the wheel studs, and happily chucked off the side of the road.

You can do that today with old technology on a bnc network or token ring. Your idea is not origional. They allready have a cat 6 passthrough devices in all our voip phones at work. Conncet pc to phone then router.

I like to say that there are plenty of mistakes to be made.  There's no reason to re-use an old one! :)
