Shift registers for my project
« on: May 20, 2015, 05:44:26 pm »
Hello everyone!

I have made a project with ''tri-state'' shift registers, I'm using 74HC595. Too late I have realised that I need to keep few pins in active states and few in HI-Z state (interchangeable). Does anyone know some similar shift registers that offer the oportunity to change any pin to HI-Z (not all together)?

There are SPI and IIC port expanders that can essentially tri-state outputs by changing them to an input as needed.

MCP23017/MCP23S17 and many others.
