speaking     you should at least get 4 to preferable 5 times your bandwith minimum for sampling

i have a 200Mhz scope at 1Ghz / channel,   but upon certain pulses  i would say it not sufficient  for very short events ...

it really depend of your needs ...   and thoses faint event i see them on an old turd like and tds7254B  with Zoom   etc ...

and for sure way better  with more deep memory / zoom mode and sampling,  its a mix of many things  ...

The odd thing I saw at 4GSa/s was the waveform (I used the probe calibrator output) wasn't fully across the screen.

I'm assuming it has to do with memory depth, but didn't dive too deeply.
