AC
« on: September 06, 2024, 11:51:29 pm »
I am trying to create a circuit that can generates AC magnetic fields in two pairs of helmholtz coils. How can I best do this and could you include schematics from a place like falstad?

You get a 120 V AC solenoid and connect it to the mains. Job done.

If that's not the answer you want, you might need to give just a tiny bit more information?

I added a little more info: I have two pairs of helmholtz coils that I want to generate ac magnetic fields of for example 0.01 T

Without knowing anything about these 4 coils (I understand two pairs as four) the only what can be said is to supply them with adequate current.
You can use AC mains as source and trafo (auto-trafo) or resistor to reduce the voltage/current applied to them.

what is your input voltage? is it a battery? what kind of battery?  or is it mains powered?

Can you give a wider picture of your project?  Is this a hydrogen generator?
