Dear LCD gurus,
I tried to repair a broken Voltcraft BS-701+IP endoscope screen (LCD mechanically broken) by ordering an LCD of identical size from a Chinese manufacturer. The resolution is identical (4.5" FWVGA 480x854px), same number of pins on connector (40), and with very similar connector layout in terms of power/data/backlight pins etc.
I naïvely thought that one MIPI display with the same connector type could replace another.
The new display only shows a white strip at the top and bottom, no image. On a CRT I would have said that the horizontal sync circuit wasn't working, but I have limited LCD experience, and no MIPI experience at all.
There was no useful number on the original display that led to a datasheet, but it is clear that both the old and new LCDs use 2 differential inputs.
Do I just have to assume that the MIPI interfaces are incompatible, or is there a trick I could try?
Thank you!
