surface mount general purpose crystal driver

I am looking for something like SN74LVC1GX04 in a package larger than the SOT23-6 that is available. I was thinking about maybe using some a 4069 in SOIC 14 but I read a lot of conflicting information online. I am using a 32KHz crystal. apparently there are different operating modes for crystal oscillator circuits. this is getting over my head but I did read about it and I did try. I want to be sure that the 4069 circuit and part number are known working with 32KHz. I don't want to waste time designing something that will never work right. any help?
